Pathway Program

Perisher's Pathway Program is intended for skiers aged 7-16 of intermediate to advanced ability and has an equal focus on improving skills in giant slalom, skier-cross, park and all-mountain freeskiing. 

The program is designed to develop fundamentals and encourage adeptness across multiples disciplines before seeking success in one specialised discipline. Lead by our most versatile professional coaches, training will have a balanced focus on building versatility and confidence.

    Program overview
    • Perisher's Pathway Program has been designed to develop fundamental skiing skills and prepare athletes for introductory competitions 
    • Led by our most versatile and experienced coaches, training has a balanced focus on building versatility and confidence 
    • The program is based on best practice and guided by Snow Australia's FTEM framework
    • Much of the time spent on snow will focus on technical freeskiing skills to enable athletes to participate in all disciplines of skiing 
    • Event training (Moguls, Giant Slalom, Park, Skier-Cross) is moderated and based on the group's development requirements
    Program structure

    Dates

    Pathway Programs are scheduled to run from 29th June until 15th September 2024

    Full time

    55 days in total, including 5 full training days per week (Saturdays, Sundays and 3 week days) 

    Part time

    Includes 2 full training days per week (Saturdays & Sundays) as well as 3 weekdays per week during both weeks of the NSW Public School Holidays

    Minimum Program Requirements
    • High-intermediate to advanced ski skill level; strong parallel on all groomed blue terrain, ready to explore off-piste/moguls/terrain parks 
    • Previous competition experience is not mandatory, however an ambition to compete is required
    • Pathways participants must have turned 7 before 1st June 2024

    • Participating in age-appropriate programs is a vital part of a successful program design. Age ranges for each program are designed to optimise each athlete's physical/mental development and follow the recommendations of Snow Australia.     • Coaching staff will be confirmed prior to the commencement of on-snow training. Training groups will initially be formed based on the information provided during the registration process and finalised during the first training block. Perisher Winter Sports Club staff will be available from May to assist with questions in the lead up to the season
    • Program costs do not include lift access. We recommend that program participants purchase the 2024 Epic Australia Pass
