Learn to Ski or Snowboard for the First Time 

There’s no better place to learn to ski or snowboard than at Perisher. 

Typically during the winter season, Perisher offers a range of first timer packages designed to make learning to ski or snowboard simple, fun, and stress-free. Two of the most popular options are the Blue Cow SnowStart bundle and the Smiggins Have-A-Go bundle, each created to suit the needs of first-timers to the snow.

First Timer Lessons

Perisher also offers dedicated First-Timer Lessons for both adults and kids, available daily out of Smiggin Holes. Adults can join two-hour morning lessons focused on the basics, while kids aged 3–14 can take part in fun, three-hour sessions designed to build confidence and essential skills in a safe and fun environment. 

First Timer Packages

Typically, during the winter season, Perisher offers a range of first timer packages designed to make your first day on snow as smooth, fun, and stress-free as possible. These packages are ideal for guests who’ve never skied or snowboarded before and include everything you need to get started — a beginner lift ticket, rental equipment (skis or snowboard, boots, and helmet), and a group lesson with one of Perisher’s qualified snowsports instructors.

Some packages are designed as all-inclusive experiences, offering convenient transport via the Skitube, equipment hire, lift access, and a morning lesson with our expert team — perfect for those planning their very first snow trip.

Others cater to in-resort visitors looking for a flexible or spontaneous option, providing same-day booking, afternoon lessons, and access to beginner-friendly terrain.

Whichever option you choose, every First Timer Package includes expert instruction, lift access to gentle terrain, and a welcoming learning environment — helping you discover the thrill of the snow from your very first turn.
