Perisher opens all 4 resort areas this Friday!

June 22 2023

Smiggin Holes, Blue Cow, Guthega + Mount Perisher open in time for the school holidays!

We are thrilled to announce that all 4 resort areas will be open in time for the school holidays, making their debut this Friday! The Mountain Operation team at Perisher has been working extremely hard to make it happen. Snow guns have been blazing, lifts have been serviced, and runs have been groomed to safely open all 4 mountains for our guests. Take a look at what each mountain offers:

Smiggin Holes

Smiggins has excellent terrain for beginner guests and families, due to the bowl that allows everyone to return to the same place when finishing their runs.

Smiggins is mostly protected from the weather and offers a variety of restaurants and lodging options for guests. When all 4 mountains are interlinked, Smiggins has easy access to Perisher and then on to Blue Cow or Guthega for those ready to explore our four resort areas.

 Smiggin Holes

Blue Cow

Blue Cow is accessible by the convenience of our Skitube where you can then ski directly out the door and start enjoying all that is on offer. With a great range of Green and Blue runs, including Zali's, Pleasant Valley and Rollercoaster, as well as some exhilarating Black runs such as Kamikaze and Show Boat, Blue Cow really covers all bases for all ability levels. Stamping Ground and Top Spot Bar will be open at Blue Cow for food and drinks, and to rest your feet from a long day of riding.

Guthega

Guthega has undergone a big transformation after the addition of the Freedom Chair, with on-snow restaurants and views that will take your breath away. With a total of 16 runs there really is something for everyone. There is a reason why locals love getting to Guthega and end up spending most of their day there.

The terrain ranges from Green, Blue, Double Blue and some Blacks for the more advanced skiers and boarders. With breath-taking panoramic views of the Kosciuszko mountain range, don't be surprised to see people stopped on the side of a run to grab a quick picture of the view. Guthega has some unique on-snow restaurants such the Burning Log and BASECAMP Cafe in the Guthega Mountain Centre, new in 2021, as well as on-snow lodging options.

It also offers amazing back country skiing with Snowy Mountains Back Country with some stunning views and unforgettable experiences.

Mount P

Also referred to as Perisher Valley, Mount P offers a diverse array of terrain suitable for all skill levels, ranging from gentle slopes for beginners to challenging areas for advanced skiers and boarders. It is home to one of our five fantastic terrain parks, making it a vibrant and thrilling destination. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, Mount P caters to a variety of skiing and boarding preferences with its extensive selection of beginner, intermediate, and advanced areas.

Commuting to each mountain

As all four mountains are not interlinked at this time, you can access Blue Cow via the Skitube, which is now operating with frequent services. To access Guthega and Smiggin Holes, road transportation is available via bus or car. However, keep an eye on the snow forecast, as more snow begins to fall, our Mountain Operations team can begin to open more runs, which will lead to the eventual interlinking of the 4 mountains. We can't wait to see you this Friday!
