Perisher powers into winter with more terrain and lift openings following spectacular snowy start
Perisher, Australia’s largest ski resort, has launched into the 2025 snow season with an extraordinary start, opening extensive terrain and multiple lifts in just one week following an impressively snowy opening day.
In a week that has thrilled skiers and snowboarders across the country, Perisher has progressively opened key lifts and terrain areas, including:
- Village Eight Express T-bar and skier conveyors in Front Valley (opened King’s Birthday weekend)
- Perisher Express Quad Chairlift to Mid-Station (opened Thursday)
- Leichhardt Chairlift (opens today, Friday)
- Smiggin Holes (opening Saturday)
- Guthega Calf T-Bar (opening Saturday)
- Happy Valley T-Bar (opening Friday)
- Additional T-Bars in Front Valley and Centre Valley (opening from Friday)
This brings the total to 15 lifts now operating this weekend, offering access to some of the best early-season conditions in years. Beginners are especially well catered for, with Perisher’s Front Valley and Smiggin Holes providing top-tier beginner terrain, supported by Beginner Bundles designed to make learning to ski or snowboard more accessible than ever.
Perisher’s early momentum is a nod to its rich alpine history. As one of the most iconic resorts in the Southern Hemisphere, Perisher has long been a favourite for snow lovers seeking variety, scale, and reliable snow.
“Seeing the terrain we’re able to open expand so quickly this week really shows how committed we are to giving our guests an incredible experience from the very start,” said Nathan Butterworth, Perisher Vice President and General Manager. “We’re especially looking forward to opening the Mt Perisher 6 — our brand-new high-speed six-seater chairlift. It’s going to be a game-changer, and we can’t wait to start chatting with guests about their first rides on the Mt P 6. Stay tuned, there’s so much more to come!”
