Whether you were cruising down from mid station this weekend or enjoying the fun at our tobogganing area, this year’s early opening weekend really had something for everyone!
Friday we saw the early opening of Front Valley with the V8 and carpet three running for those who were able to get the day off work and enjoy the bonus day. Saturday is when the fun really kicked off around the mountain with the Perisher Express open to mid station for skiers and boarders (open to the top for sightseeing) and Smiggin Holes opening up two carpets and the Cook JBar. This weekend we had the Playstation Slopestyle Terrain Park and the Yabby Flat Terrain Park open for all those who want to get their first jumps and rail slides in for 2015. When we spoke with Terrain Park Manager, Charles Beckinsale, he said “Front Valley Park has been groomed and offers beginner to intermediate fresh new features ready to jib! The park is ready to ride and stocked with a total of 10 boxes and rails”.
The Peak Festival kicked off on Friday evening leaving the resort smothered with amazing bands and performances to suit everyone’s taste. Friday night was a great introduction to the four day festival and this awesome vibe continued right through the weekend! Tijuana Cartel had the Smiggins Hotel main stage pumping on Saturday night and L-Fresh the Lion had the whole crowd dancing on Sunday night.
Overall, it was an awesome start to our 2015 season and we can’t wait to see you all down here again soon!
