As the winter gets closer and you’re getting excited about the snow starting to fall, everyone wants to know as much as possible about your favourite resort and what’s coming up for the season.
This year, we’re giving you behind the scenes access to all things Perisher! We’ll be bringing you information about our four resort areas, events & entertainment throughout the resort, the best spots to eat or drink while you’re here, tips for making the most of your winter and so much more.
The big news of the season is the Freedom Pass now including Epic Benefits. Some of you may be asking, what does this mean for me? Or what overseas resort will be best for you? We'll be giving you an overview of each of the nine resorts available to access through the Epic Benefits program so you can find the right resort for you!
This year we’ve made our 5 for 4 deal better than ever by making sure you can get this deal on almost anything you purchase. Pretty sweet deal, right!? We’ve also made it easier than ever for you to access our Events & Entertainment Calendar, so you won’t miss out on any bands or events that are happening in and around the resort throughout the season.
Performance Plus is a new range of lessons for 2015. Our instructors and coaches will be providing a range of new programs where you can throw yourself around in the Park & Pipe Sessions, explore all of Perisher's Hidden Secrets, be the first to get that perfect carve on Fresh Tracks, and face your fears with a steep Vertical Session. We've got fun race days for Over 55's, something just for the Ladies and so much more. Our teams know the terrain back to front, so let us show you and your mates around. The groups run for three hours starting from 9.30am with a maximum of 6 in each; you'll then have the afternoon to show off your new skills! This is a great chance for you to make the most of your time here at Perisher.
Little Stars is for the youngest of the lot - the 2 year olds. This ski & play program is unique to Perisher and will teach the kids the very basics such as balancing on snow and sliding. With indoor and outdoor activities throughout the day, as well as a one hour private lesson, your little star will be exploring Perisher with you in no time! Once your kids get the hang of skiing, why not give them the chance to turn into a little shredder as well with the new Discovery Kids Snowboarding program! This is for kids aged three to five years where they can learn the basics of snowboarding and then spend the rest of your holiday out exploring the mountains with you!
This year we're bringing you more updated technology and machinery than ever before! We've just had the brand new Bison Winch Groomer arrive on our doorstep! For those who don't know the ins and outs of groomers, it's extremely flexible, even on the steepest of terrain. The manoeuvrability of the blade and the cutter allow the creation of sophisticated shapes when designing a park, and this is all done easily using just a joystick! We've also purchased five TF10 mobile fan guns that will be fired up soon! Stay tuned for more info about these new fancy machines from our experts throughout the season.
Slope grooming has been underway to ensure that we've got the best terrain for 2015 and we've also made it easier for the little Pygmy Possums to cross at Blue Cow with an underground fauna crossing linked to the base of the Terminal Chair.
