Our People

Our Human Resources department is responsible for everything from recruitment, payroll services, workers compensation and injury management to staff accommodation, training, career development, events and newsletters.

HR staff members also act as impartial advocates, listen to employee issues or assist with any other concerns.

Gavin Girling

Human Resources Manager

Currently engaged as the Human Resources Manager, Gavin commenced as Payroll Assistant with Blue Cow in 1994 and joined Perisher when the companies merged in 1995. He successfully moved through various positions within Finance and Human Resources to where he sits today, working alongside Perisher's Senior Managers.

Vivienne Roberts

Recruitment & Training Coordinator

Taking a leap of faith, Vivienne opted for a change in career in 2006 and made the decision to hit Perisher's snowfields. Vivienne added value to the HR team, commencing as the Front Desk Administrator before moving into the Payroll department in the same year. Choosing to hone her HR skills, Vivienne has since moved to the HR department, where she works as a generalist, focusing on recruitment, sponsor visa applications, training and staff development.

Meredith Corney

Human Resources & Training Advisor

Meredith is a veteran at Perisher, having begun her career with us in 1996, as a Centre Valley Lift Operator, before quickly moving to the position of Lift Staff Coordinator. Here she focused on providing valuable support, guidance and discipline to the large team of Lift Operators. In 2011 she took a step in a slightly new direction, bringing her skills and knowledge to the HR team. Meredith today works as one of the HR and Training Advisors, specialising in the field of the Operations and uniform distributions.

Michelle Hodgson

HR Systems & Payroll Manager

Following her previous career with a financial planning company, Michelle continued crunching numbers and counting beans when she joined Perisher's Treasury team in 2005. Michelle then took the next step in her career, advancing to become Perisher's Payroll Manager in 2006. Michelle coordinates all of our HR systems including Kronos and Taleo.

Stephanie Lean

Employee Services Advisor

Starting her career with Perisher as a Centre Valley Lift Operator in 2006, Stephanie showed her flair for mentoring the team and began as a Leading Hand Lift Operator in 2009. In 2010 Stephanie made the decision to stay with Perisher year-round by joining the HR team. Taking HR by storm, Stephanie has moved from the Front Desk Administrator to the specialist position of Employee Services Advisor. Stephanie also coordinates all Worker’s Compensation claims and queries.

Saleena Shirvington

Staff Accommodation Coordinator

Saleena is the newest member to join the HR team as the Staff Accommodation Assistant in 2011, and receiving a promotion to Staff Accommodation Coordinator later the same year. Although Saleena may be new to HR, she is definitely not a new face to Perisher. Sal has worked with the Lift Operations, Mountain Host, Trail Crew, Snowsports and Hospitality Bars departments since 2002. Sal's new focus is liaising with staff and coordinating accommodation.
